Inner Forestay for the Rasmus

I have been talking to Mack Sails about new sails and they have just about talked me into putting in an inner forestay for a small jib and storm sail.  I kinda wanted one anyway.  I have just sent them a design idea and I am waiting for a response.  Here is a quick sketch I sent them to see if it is feasable.

Very cool! Let us know what they say...we are looking into one as well. But one question, why are you going to the forward bulkhead, why not put a backing plate on the deck?? I think you will have a big hindrance in the v-berth if you do it the way your drawing has it...

When I talked to Travis at Mack Sails, he wanted the new chainplate to be attached directly to the bulkhead aft of the chain locker. Since I put the windlass in that location there is no way of doing that(without moving windlass). I am assuming it is preferable to attach to something substanial like the bulkhead(I may be overengineering so I am waiting for his reply). I think the intrusion will be minimal in the V-birth because the wire will run close the the bulkhead(I am guessing within 8 inches mid way up) and only 12 inches or so at the ceiling). My drawing is showing the wire too far forward from what it will actually be, I believe. But, as you know, I haven't slept in there yet so you know more about whether that will be a problem or not. I will post his reply and hope to get feedback from you after. Thanks for the note. You guys have a great Christmas.
