Making Progress on the Hard Top

This is a pic of the hardtop after laminating the two 1/4 inch okoume plywood togeter
I have laminated the two 1/4 inch okoume ply together and sheathed the top in 3 layers of 9 oz. fiberglass cloth.  I then faired using system three Quickfair, sanded, and coated with one coat of epoxy.  I will then roll on one or two coats of PrimeKote and then paint with Interlux Perfection.  I will leave the underneath natural and varnish.  I have decided to go back to my original plan of making the window frames out of stainless steel because I am tired of fiberglass work.  I will post the process in detail so anyone out there can copy it if they like what they see.  Pics below:
This shows the hardtop after glassing with three layers of 9 oz. cloth, fairing, and coating with an epoxy to seal.

Hey Pat, This looks great. My canvas top is still good, but I'm very tempted to convert to a hardtop. . . especially after seeing how beautiful yours looks.

keep at it Pat, looks good. stainless is a good way forward. there is corrosion on my aluminium frames that I am trying to work out what to do with. I think I will sand and fill with epoxy then maybe try and find a compatible paint finish. Not sure how it will work out though.

has anyone done this one yet?
