Rebuilding the Mast: Help!

Its been so long I have forgotten how the mast goes together.  I am hoping some of you Rasmus owners can help me out.  I don't know what fasteners were used to bolt the spreaders to the mast and the orientation of the shroud tangs.

                                                                               BOW(forward)
STEARN(aft)

BOW(forward)
                                                                              STEARN(aft)

Is the lower attachment point on the tang aft or forward (above)?

What fastens this U shaped hardware (that holds the spreaders) to the mast (above)?

What bolts the spreaders to the U shaped hardware (above)?

So I have 4 fasteners on each spreader that are in question.  The 2 fasteners that bolt the U shaped hardware to the mast and the 2 fasteners that bolt the spreader to the U shaped hardware.

Help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Pat

Hello again Pat!
Do you have the original Selden mast? I don´t recognise all the details when i compere with pictures from our mast. But if you check this album you maybe can find some pictures that can help you: http://brand.nanny166.se/#10.0 Best regards Liv

Yes I have the original Selden mast. I am asking what is holding the shrouds on the mast. There are 4 fasteners that hold the one shroud on the mast. I think a split tube is used for part of it. They are hammered in and use friction to keep either the shrouds on the metal U shaped bracket or they mount the bracket to the mast. I only have found 4 of them so I have four other fasteners that are unaccountable. Thanks for the replies Liv. Much appreciated.

Too bad I can not help you. It may be that we have different models of Selden masts. Have you tried to contact Selden here in Sweden?

That spreader support is also different to my boat. I do recognise the tang though. It allows both lowers to be connected to the mast via single lug. Can't remember which way round it goes.

Can't help thinking you have a mixture of bits. Was the mast up when you got the boat? It looks like a new spreader, was a job half finished by the previous owner. (look what else he did to it!)

I'll snap some pics of mine. I think it's original except for the boom which does not reef by rotating.

Thanks Jim I appreciate it. I have read of folks attaching 1 inch pvc pipe on inside of mast to run wires. Is this a good idea? Thanks again
